My theme this year for the A to Z Challenge is the people, places and things that have shaped my life and there have been a handful of television shows that have help develop me into the man I am today. One of those shows is Joss Whedon’s Angel. The tale of one of the vilest creatures that ever lived turned vampire with a soul who stopped the apocalypse. A redemption story for the ages.
Think about that for a moment, a vampire with a soul! In my opinion Whedon’s character is a perfect narrative of humanity. We all are simultaneously capable of good and evil. Angelus is the monster within us all.
Angel shows us all that the monster can be kept in its cage. That we all can be heroes, even the worst of us can redeem ourselves and be a Champion.
Great post I loved that show. I am doing Legendary Mythical Creatures….vampires are my V lol
Best Wishes,
Annette

There’s a little bit of good in everyone. Sometimes you just have to dig a bit deeper to find it.

While I do believe that each of us has free will and can chose to do better, be better, give more, love more, etc. I rest my redemption solely in the hands of Jesus Christ, the only One who can never lose it. 😉
